Taina Ramirez is an multidiciplinary artist working and living in Chicago. Their work is heavily influenced by their experience as a part of the Puerto Rican and Mexican diaspora in Chicago. Through drawing, painting, printmaking, and more, Ramirez explores themes of the diasporic experience, memory, and community. Ramirez's practice is heavily informed by their background in community organizing and education. They are currently a student at UIC studying Art Education, preparing to teach visual arts in a Chicago high school. Their teaching practice centers on art making as a vital tool for observing, critiquing, & reimagining the world around us.
